Led by a proven senior team of physicians, scientists, engineers and investors, Palmaz Scientific was created in 2008 with a vision to provide a platform to innovate medical science. Today this vision is realized both in product, with a platform applying nanotechnologies that assure biocompatibility via vapor deposition to produce more reliable implantable prosthetic devices; and in practice, with an Innovation Incubator - a business platform from which other medical innovators can leverage their own medical science innovations.
Palmaz Scientific was initially founded for the design and promotion of technologies offering improved implantable medical device with superior design and biocompatibility. Today that technology platform includes nearly 100 patents issued and over 100 pending patent applications for processes and medical devices with stronger and higher purity metals.
Palmaz Scientific has launched the Innovation Incubator to assist other medical professionals, researchers and investors leverage our patents and develop their own intellectual property toward continuing improvements in medical science that accelerate the healing process and improve patient outcomes.
The Company maintains its headquarters in Dallas, Texas with manufacturing, research and development operations in Fremont, California. In addition, the Company collaborates with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio on the advancement of metal surface nanotechnology research. In May 2010, the State of Texas recognized the importance of Palmaz Scientific's technologies awarding the Company a $3 million award from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund.
